The Wood County Republican Women met at the Parkersburg Country Club today. The meeting began with a music video of the National Federation of Republican Women's new theme song. Thank you notes were read by the Secretary. Our club donated to a local Boy Scout troop to purchase popcorn for the troops. Membership Chair, Mary Ann Osborne, spoke to the WVFRW Bylaws revision that was not passed and how it would affect WCRW and all of the clubs in West Virginia. The State President will be sending correspondance to National with the result of our vote and explaining the rational behind it. Members who want a hard copy of the updated WVFRW Bylaws must notify Deidre' by December 1, 2011. Campaign Chair, Gladys Lemley, commented on the Campaign Management Workshop she participated in at the NFRW Biennial and it's timeliness with 2012 being an election year. Items were collected for the Bread Line by Caring for America Chair, Deborah Trippett. She spoke to the need that is met by these donations and the opportunity to volunteer your time as well as items on Tuesday mornings at 8:00 a.m at St. Paul's UM Church on Market Street. Members who attended were generous as usual. WCRW received the Silver Club Achievement Award and the club's certificate from the NFRW was shared with members present. The 2012 Calendar was given out as well.

As a follow-up to the WVFRW 39th Biennial, Deidre' Lake presented a powerpoint presentation of photos and information. Copies of NFRW Resolutions were passed out and discussed. Each club in West Virginia received as a gift, the DVD, "Give me Liberty." All WCRW members and their families are encouraged to view this 45 minute video. Contact Deidre to borrow it.

Gladys Lemley presented a power point on the NFRW 36th Biennial in Kansas City, MO. She verbally shared information about the various events: Gala, workshops, prayer breakfast, and guest speakers. Presidential candidates, Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich spoke at the event. Newt passed out a copy of his "21st Century Contract with America." Gladys had copies for each member present. More info about this event can be found at "http://www.nfrw.org"
